Problems Using the Latest version of VirtualDub ( somebody can help?)

I have a strange problem using VirtualDub (latest release). My OS is Windows 98... The previous versions ( previous version from one year ago, maybe) works well, but now, unfortunatelly not !!!

When I try to open the program appear the following message :

It's is a portuguese language, but means that the Virtual caused a failure in general protection of the system, in the modul exe ....

Does anybody knows what's happening? And how can I solve this?


Whith VirtualDubMod I don't have any problem....

lo guys,
just wanted to say that i also experienced this crash in user.exe with the latest virtualdubmod version (1.5.10 - older versions seem to work fine tough!)

and yes deleting ctfmon (as described in the thread fcchandler linked to) solved the problem! i also use officexp

the wierd thing is i dont have this problem with older versions, so propably its a bug in latest virtualdub?
