I have been trying to burn cd music to a dvd so I don't have to resort to low quality mp3. I tried doing the slideshow method after converting the 44.1khz music to 48khz with BeSweet. The problem I had with that is that I can't make the length of time it shows each slide precise enough to coincide with the songs. It's fine at the start, but gets farther off as the disc goes along. I decided to try doing a DVD video, replacing the original soundtrack with my 48khz music. I used DVD shrink to remove the soundtrack and convert the video down to the lowest quality I could to save space. I then converted down the video again to lower the quality some more. I then used Nero Vision Express to make a DVD. I put the video clip in several times to get the length of time I wanted it to run and added 27 songs as the soundtrack. I put chapter marks at the beginning of each song. The problem: when I go to burn, it says it can't get the data for the DVD. Could the problem be with lowering the video quality twice? Or is it the music? I tried to read the log it gave after the failure. Mostly jibberish to me. I do think it mentioned a format violation but I could get no usefull info from it. Any suggestions?

I have done this with Vegas Video 4 (free trial available)

Just import the WAVs, you can select them all and drag them to the timeline, then create a title for each one as the video (or just one long black title screen if you don't care about what appears on the screen)

Then render the sound as a PCM stereo stream at 48khz
Then render the video as an m2v stream
(I do this seperately you may be able to do this as one step)
then reauthor in IFOedit (although I use DVD Architect for this step having rendered the video as DVD compliant mpeg2)
