OK i just got another error in Scenarist on a Eight Crazy Nights (pal)....

Error Video or Audio Buffer underflow: (Dts: 44082654, SCR 44082798)
Error dvd_mux : DoMux Multiplexing Error
Error Terminated Multiplexing (Nights.scn-VTS_01_PGC_01_t.vob).
Error Total bitrate is too HIGH. Please reduce the stream bitrate or the number of stream.
Error Multiplex is failed.
Info Multiplexing failed, Track<VTS_01_PGC_01>

Error MuxFromDB:MuxVTS failed
Error Multiplex failed
Error DVD files could not be created

Now it says underflow, then in bracks has dts, now if it means a dts audio track, it cant be as there aint one. Then it says total bitrate is too high ... how ??? i used to bitrate reauthorist gave , i never change them.

Please can someone help me out here, as it took 4 bloody hours ,before it gave me that message as theres 26sub tracks .

Two audio tracks are dummys as i unticked the italian and russian 5.1DD tracks.

Thanks.

dts = decode time stamp (have no idea what it actually means, not that that really matters in current context).

Remember the total bitrate of 10.08 megabits or whatever it is includes all the subs, and you do have 26 subpicture streams (even though they don't take much space, could be straw that broke camel's back). Perhaps the bitrate calc got it wrong.

BTW AFAIK the subs are held as temp files so you won't have to go through all that waiting when you remux with subs.

So what would you guys suggest , i still have the ecl, vaf, mpv and the original m2v ?? Can i run say another pass on the m2v, ?? would doing this mess the picture up ? and just change the max from 8968 down to say 8500 or 8200, that should then give me the room wright ??

Also i would'nt need to re-import the mpv if i dont chnage its name.

That should work. DoItFast4U! and ReAuthorist don't account for subs because usually they take very little bitrate and don't cause this error. We don't know of any method to actually determine the bitrate that subs will take, and according to DVD Spec, subs can have bitrates of up to 3.36 Mbps. No idea how you create a sub track that has that much bitrate though!

@eye's , thats fair enough about the subs.

OK, how to i go about adding another pass to drop the max bitrate down to 8200 ?? or is it the avg. , im sure its the max i have to drop.
Do i load the ecl into cce, then i change the max bitrate, then do i change the pass' to 6 or 1, as its on 5 already and i want to run another to drop the max bitrate .
Also doing this should'nt mess the picture up should it ?
An lastly, after running another pass i wont need to re-import it should i as its the same file, scenarist should just pick it up as having a lower bitrate.

Thanks

You don't add an other pass, you reencode again. You cannot use the existing vaf file, since you changed values. If you try to use the existing one you'll get mismatch errors.

So you start again from scratch, whatever method you used. You're right that you change the max bitrate (either in the docce.txt or the ra created file). For exact calculations search the forum. Also take into account angles. If you have multiple angles the max bitrate will be even lower.

So delete all your vaf and ecl files, adjust the settings and the reencode.

After reencoding you'll have to recompile the scenarist script. To do this delete the scenarist cache and the vif files. Open your script, scenarist will recreate the vifs (either when opening or compiling)

OK, i dont mind re-encoding the movie, but i was hoping i would'nt have to to import everything again as , or at least leave the cache folder as it took about 2 hours to import every thing, then it took 4 hours encode/cache all the subtitles.

Try to leave the cach then. See what's in it. If there's any video in it delete it and leave the subs as is. also delete the muxed files! Make sure you at least delete the vifs!

OK, from what i see theres only subs in the cache folder.
So i'll re-encode the movei, but i'll drop the max to 8000 to be on the safe side.
The i have to re-import the script again, but first delete the vif files. Then after that try to re-build the dvd again and hope that it does'nt try re-caching the subs.

I did a search, and read some one else had a prob like this but not with scenarist, and someone said the bmp might be corrupt, and said to re-save them in paintshop pro.

Now i'll try re-encodeing first.

Not reimport your script! Just opne the existing one. Otherwise it will start importing again and you don't want that.

Oh you mean the scn file, i thought you meant the scp file that reauthorist gives you.
