View Full Version : No reported audio delay

Hi,

I've searched but found little or no information regarding my dilema. I'm primarily using GNU/Linux to do some XviD/Vorbis encoding, but my problems isn't with the OS, or the codecs used. My problem is that there have been some DVD of mine that don't have a "reported" audio delay. vStrip (in GNU/Linux) shows nothing in it's summary, and DVD2AVI (in Windows) creates AC3 files with no delays, yet the audio is out of sync. I've had to sync the video/audio by trial and error, and have found that for 3 of the DVDs that had no reported audio delay, their delay was between 300-400 ms.

Is there a way to find the audio delay when it's not reported or found by programs like vStrip or DVD2AVI? Where could that information be found, the VOB itself, or IFO, or whatever?

Thanks.
