Hi all.
Recently I discovered the great matroska container, and started to make my own files. I muxed Director´s Comments subtitles (.srt format)on a 2 CD .ogm movie. The problem is that I put CD1 subs on CD2 and CD2 subs on CD1, and I deleted the original ogm files.
Using Virualdubmod (last version) I tried to "delete" the wrong stream subtitles and add the right ones, but when saving the new .mkv file, gives errors at + or - 55% of the process. I tested other .mkv files with subtitles (avi+srt) and have the same problem. Not even Im able to simply delete the stream. I get errors.
Once a subtitle is muxed, cant be deleted? Is ther an alternative to VDMod for modifying streams?
Tnx a lot.

Have you enough space on your hard drive ?
Else there is an alternative : mkvtoolnix

If all else fails, you can use the Matroska Stream Editor to delete a stream.

Tnx you two for your responses. Both are right. First, I had not enough disk space. I canged the file to another drive and Virtuadubmod finished the job, BUT, was unable to delete and replace the subtitle stream that was wrong. So, first I delete all the subtitle streams with the great app Matroska Stream Editor, and after that, I use VirtuadubMod for mux all the streams again. Worked like a charm!
Tnx a lot.
Now two questions.
1.Matroska Stream Editor can add new streams, as VDMod does?
2.I have spanish subtitles and I would like to read i.e. "Comentarios del Director" in the subtitle list, but I only read "English". I tried both VDMod and Matroska Stream Editor but no luck. Is there an easy way to do it? What Im doing wrong?
Tnx again.

The Matroska Stream Editor is more of a concept program. It only works with Matroska files and will not import anything into Matroska. However, if you have your audio, video, and subtitles in all different Matroska files, you can import them all to MSE and save them as one file. You can also remove tracks, append tracks, cut tracks, and change a tracks offset.
The thing about MSE is that it treats all Matroska streams identical, no matter what they contain.
In MSE, if you right click on the track and choose "Edit this track", you should be able to edit the Track Name.

Do you know how to add tags to matroska files with VdubMod already ? The right tag to add to be able to add such comments, was 'title' for older versions, but now in 1.5.10.1 its called 'track name' like in mkvmerge i was told ....

Tested right now the latest version of VDMod. Doesnt exists "Track Name" but "Track number". I used Track number but no luck. Still "English", not "Directors Comments".
I tried the other options: Name (doesnt work), Generic (doesnt work), Description (nope)...
Whay Im doing wrong?

How about trying to use 'title' as i was telling above ? I literally said i was told it was renamed to 'track name', thus indicating i am not sure if it was changed or not.
And BTW, there is only one player showing track name as of yet, and thats TCMP ...

Christian, "Title" doesnt work too. I understood you perfectly, but maybe I didnt explain myself right.
I tested all options, but the name of the subtitles doesnt appear. I use Media Player Classic last version, but where I look for the names is on the DirectVobSub green icon, not inside the player.
Maybe Im doing all wrong from the beggining. Maybe once the subs are muxed, cant be edited. All my tests I did were editing muxed subtitles, and not adding new ones.
USing i.e. "Title" option doesnt leave me write on the "tag" field, only on the "Comment" field. What is the key field, the tag or the comment one? Ive tried writing on both fields, using the other options (track number, director, etc) but no luck.
Sorry if the solution is very obvious, but Im a newbie on Matroska affairs.
Tnx

Most players only support the language tag, and this must be a ISO tag from the drop down list ( eng, ger, ita, etc. ) , custom descriptions are not allowed for this field ....
