Filter doesn't mean decoder. I believe that DTS is highly propriatory format, so whoever doing decoders has to pay royalties for that...
Those filters allow for playing back dts content using WinDVD decoder. If one owns the proper WinDVD license, they are entitled to decode dts, aren't they? Or am I totally wrong?

It works.

I muxed the DTS audio with vdubmod, then registered AVI<->AC3/DTS Filter from http://sourceforge.net/projects/guliverkli/
Zoomplayer was already setup to use it. But it was under audio decoder "DTS in container".
I am using WinDVD5 audio decoder, it will even decode it so you can play it back on the PC speakers.

So will you reconsider adding the feature to AutoGK?

I think he has already answered this

Basically DTS is huge and for including in an avi file its almost not worth the trouble as its often one cd by itself

the aim of AUTOGK is be as newbie friendly as possible

nearly all newbies wont know what the difference between DTS and DD5.1 is and certainly wont want to fiddle about with DTS getting the right filters etc

so i cant see lenox adding this in

i think the tool is pretty much complete now if XVID 1.0 proper came out and was supported which is planned then all would be perfect.

Nice feature would be (for added usability)
ability to directly edit the output filename on the main autogk screen .. eg I was doing some tests using constant quality 40,50,60 output file was called test40,test50. When you are doing episodes I am sure many people will just call them say Simpsons1 simpsons2 etc etc, as the king of Siam would say.

Also add a function to add bars into movies wider than 16:9 to make them 16:9, to correct AR for anamorphic displays (widescreen TV).

I think to be usefull feature have an option to choose the AR output (4:3/16:9): mantein the original anamorphic AR of the DVD.
I look forward to have it ;)

Thank you gentlemen

I'd also like to request DTS support, for a couple reasons:

A) Many times DTS has superiour sound quality
B) Some DVD's(such as Men in Black) only have DTS Surround Sound and Stereo Dolby Digital Tracks
C) The Days of Backing up DVD's on a CD are numbered. Prices on DVD Burners and media are coming down, more & more people own HDTV's, and a lot of people(myself included!) hate swapping CD's.

I appreciate all the hard work you've done and I love AutoGK regardless of your decision on DTS :)

Yay. Since it's here, I'll annoy everyone with my wishlist. Feel free to ignore everything here.

(1) An increase in the maximum fixed width size to 800, like GKnot!

(2) When chosing the directory that the DVD was ripped to, it would look something like this:

http://home.columbus.rr.com/carraway6/folders.gif

Sometimes I have my DVD rips buried deep into several folders, and clicking through can be tedious. It would be nice if I could just paste the directory into the input box and be done with it.

(3) Auto size! I don't know quite how this would work, but if, after a compressibility check, AutoGK would automatically determine how many CD's would be "ideal", that'd be sorta cool. Ya know, for the newbies.

That's all I got. Thanks again for the program len0x, I have lots of man-love for you.
