DVD2SVCD question... please help....

I am using DVD2SVCD in AVI2DVD mode... I am encoding a .avi(xvid) file with .ac3 audio and I don't want to convert it but when I go to the AUDIO tab in AVI2DVD and try to change the option: [Do not convert audio (Use source audio)] the option isn't active(or greyed out) and if I allow it to convert the .ac3 to .mp2 the audio won't work properly on my DVD player. What could be the cause of this? Thanks for any help

In AVI2SVCD mode the option is not avaible. Look here (http://forum.doom9.org/showthread.php?s=&threadid=66482) for another thread about the topic.
But I don't understand why converting from AC3 to MPG2 doesn't work properly since DVD audio is AC3, too (or at least I think so perhaps I'm confusing some facts... :o ).
