Can I ask you one question?
Reacently, I bought digital photo camera, and I recorded a movie in AVI format (VGA as it says on it), and downloaded to my computer.

Now I want to compress it becouse I want to send it over Internet.
(it's quite big, I mean big for mine internet, becose I have 33,6kBs telefon line modem, and the movie is around 15MB.

I wanted to compress it to any other commpresed format like DivX or something like it. I used earlier, program "Virtual Dub" to do some things with DivX movies ... size, blur effects or something like, but I have problem with this AVI format from camera.

When I open the Virtual Dub, open file, on Video/Filters add Resize filter (320x240), and Brightness/Contrast filter, select this things,
from compression chose any (like DivX MPEG4 Fast or Slow motion, Xvid MPEG4) codec, and chose Option "Save as AVI" to compress movie (I hope thats the right way to do it), a message

"Error: MJPEG scan has misslabeled component"

I don't have to do anything with commpressing, if I just want to play it in Virtual Dub, same massage appears.
Any other movie works OK. Just this camera movies won't.

Can you tell me the solution of the problem ? Please?!

The MJPEG file is flawed. I think I know why, but to understand the explanation you would need a thorough knowledge of JPEG coding. Even then, it wouldn't help you fix the problem.

It appears that VirtualDub's internal MJPEG decoder is kicking in, which suggests that you don't have an external MJPEG codec installed. You might try installing the PicVideo (http://www.pegasusimaging.com/picvideomjpeg.htm) or Morgan (http://www.morgan-multimedia.com/) MJPEG codecs, just to see if it makes any difference.

You could also save a couple of frames in "Direct Stream Copy" mode and email it to Avery Lee (http://www.virtualdub.org/contact). I have a feeling he might be very interested in your problem, since the error comes from his own decoder.
