This should have gone in the Linux Forum. It would probably be more useful there for people looking into trying linux for video editing.

That article really annoyed me. Reading further into the discussion on osnews, she even came out and admitted to not even having tried avidemux. Though in any case, what are developers supposed to take away from an article like that. I wasn't aware that objective #1 of video editing development came down to "Read Eugenia's mind, don't make things she thinks look weird." A lot of her complaints seemed to boil down to the fact that she has one way she wants to do things, and she wants to be able to do it on any platform. Which is really odd in someone who devotes their time to maintaince of a site that, in theory at least, celebrates diversity in the different operating systems. Don't label something "a nightmare to use", or "half-baked hobby", say 'why' you feel that way. Complaining about an open source project does nothing, constructive complaints at least have a chance of bringing a new idea to the developer.
