With the mods approval I would like to submit the following for an update to the Q&A faq. no Q41. I have been doing a lot of multiple (2 Disk) DVD conversions lately and have been using the following method.
1st read the Q&A faq.
The answer in Q41 works well but to help avoid sync problems the following addition has worked well for me.
After stripping and renaming the vob files as stated in Q41, you only need to keep the ifo file from the first DVD, you can delete the second one. Download and use IFOEDIT. www.ifoedit.com
Note**
Open ifoedit and open the ifo file. Choose vob extras from the top menu and choose create new ifos. In the new menu the appropriate files should already be checked you can just hit ok. Once it finishes copy the new ifo files over the old one and you're ready to convert. You can now convert the files as usual and can note the time sequences are now correct for the total length of the movie. For Example I just did The Two Towers extended version; my new vob set has a total time of 3:53 minutes for movie length. Using this method I have avoided any out of sync sound issues.
