View Full Version : 1.5.10.1 not saving mark point in .vcf

I've done this a few times to confirm it really happens - if I open a file (Avi in this case) chop out bits and then save processing settings, none of the VirtualDub.subset.AddRange lines are present in the .vcf file. Reverting to 1.5.4.1 and VirtualDub.subset.AddRange is in the file as expected. File is an old divx 3.11 avi, cuts start on a K and end on the last I before a K. Direct stream copy mode. Would look further withother files, but I'm trying (unsuccessfully) to cut up a .mkv file produced by virtualvcr-matroska.
Anyone else seeing this? Kinda makes vdubmod a little useless for me if I can't save the clip ranges.

Just check "Include selection and edit list" when "Save processing settings".
Avery Lee added this checkbox since VirtualDub 1.5.5.
Note that the status of the checkbox is persistant (VirtualDub(Mod) save it in the registry and thus if you check it one time it will stay checked the next times you use "Save processing settings").

another one you might be able to answer quickly.. saving an audio stream with 1.5.10.1 is painfully slow, even in direct stream copy mode. What used to take 6 mins in previous version now takes > 60 mins. Any suggestions on what's going wrong with this?

From what kind of file do you demux the audio ? AVI, OGM or MKV ?
It seems the direct stream copy from AVI speed has been reduced along with the 1.5.x versions of VirtualDub.
If the source is MKV then I dunno, a new lacing method has been added and had to be taken into account in the library we use but I don't think that would reduce that much the speed.
Did you tested 1.5.10.1 and previous versions on the same file ? Otherwise another problem may be that your file is highly fragmented (which has a big impact on the speed too).

Yep, AVI files and also AVS (mpeg/2 with ac3 added as a file stream and then demuxed after cutting). File fragmentation isn't the problem. 1.5.4.1 was heaps faster.

When I am trying to mux AVI and vbr MP3 (both in direct stream mode), the process takes much longer than it used to be.
