Well I used the method that EBITDA suggests (http://forum.doom9.org/showthread.php?s=&threadid=59673), and the results were excellent. The video motion is very smooth and clear. Here is what I did:
1) Exported timeline > Movie from Premiere with the PluginPac Frameserver to an pseudo *.avi file.
2) Opened this avi with TMPGEnc and applied the filter as EBITDA described.
3) Saved the TMPGEnc project with VFAPI, and created a (second) pseudo avi file, which...
4) ... I then opened and converted to MPEG-2 DVD PAL with Procoder, which treated it as progressive content (TMPGEnc filter outputs 50fps).
Well, is anything wrong with this...chain? I prefer to frameserve, since I don't want any DV codec to be involved. I suppose PluginPac does nothing to quality, and TMPGEnc converts the colorspace to RGB(making it darker and so). But what about VFAPI??? The whole complicated thing worked fine and the result was astonishing. Is there any quality drawback? When I encoded a much darker video with the same method, I have to say the result was worse than encoding it as interlaced. But in the other video (medium light), the result was better, basically because of the smooth motion and sharpness, and without any ghosting effect.
PS:Also, when I tried to frameserve with Avisynth (DirectShowSource), it resulted in a...slow motion (!) video. Is anybody aware of such...issue?
