Hey ppl

I always used to convert from divx to (s)vcd or kdvd, but i recently got myself a yamada DVX 6100, here is a link if anybody is intrested:

http://www.amazon.co.uk/exec/obidos...1207129-2275623

It allows me to burn my divx or xvid to cdr or even a few on dvdr then play them - with no more converting. But i have come across a problem with some divx files with ogg audio. How can i seperate the audio and then do i convert it to mp3?!?

Im totally stuck, when typing into search engines i cant seem to find what im looking for. Does anybody know how i can seperate the audio from a divx file (tried nandub+virtual dub) and also how to convert a ogg movie file to divx? That is about as clear as i can make it...im a total newbie when it comes to divx, xvid and ogg!

Thanks in advance guys!

In case anybody was wondering about the divx dvd player, im well happy with it. Plays all my vcds, svcds dvdr(- and +) even those disks that didnt work on my last dvd player : xsvcd, data dvdrs, data cdr's. The only wee thing that annoys me is it plays the movie in a slightly smaller window on the TV, i think this is because it plays what resolution the file has been encoded too, but im proberly wrong

Use VirtualDubMod to seperate the Ogg audio. Then you can use Besweet to transcode from Ogg to MP3.

Be warned, though, Besweet is an insanely complicated program, the GUI has a stupifying amount of buttons, and the whole thing in general has an extremely steep learning curve. Find the guides on Besweet on the main doom9.org site and try it.

What Prettz said, just one thing to add, it's likely the ogg file has already had things like drc and gain applied to it so keep it simple when transcoding. Basically a straight conversion to mp3 at a suitable bitrate will likely suit you best. I'd probably do it twice if it were me, once with cbr mp3 and again with vbr mp3 to test whether the player will handle the vbr mp3.
Mux the mp3 back with the video again using vdubmod using direct stream copy for both the audio and video.

Thanks for the reply guys. Ok, i got virtualdub mod, when i open the .ogm file there is a black screen with a error saying:
Warning : Nothing To Output BDecoder Lag

Also, this will proberly sound really stupid asking this but how do I take just the audio out. I can see the option on my other virtualdub versions - but not on this one.Its usually the option to the right of "video" in the taskbar.

I can play with with sound using virtualdub mod, but when going to see the file information it says this:

Audio Tag : 0xFFFE, Not decodable EXTENSIBLE
Compressin Unknown (tag FFFE)

Totally stuck - thanks for your help in advance

Hmm, I haven't seen that before, if may mean the ogg file is a little corrupted, I'm not sure. You say you can hear the sound so I think you still should be able to demux the audio.
Go to the Streams menu and click on stream list, there you should see the ogg audio stream, you should also see a couple buttons, save wav and demux. Which one you choose depends on you, besweet will accept either wav or ogg as input but if for some reason one doesn't work try the other.

Moved from DivX to Audio forum.

The warning is propably cost by bframes don't worry (if i'm right :D ). In VDubMod go to the streams menu - stream list. There you can see your audio track(s) and can separate it.

For audio conversion use Besweet's wizard wich is very easy to use. Just drag and drop. :)
