I recently was encoding a movie and everything appeared to go well, until I was multiplexing the movie...
I frameserved from Virtual Dub, with 480x360 and 480x480 letter box for a widescreen DVD I ripped...
When I made the mp2 in headach3, and tried to multiplex the mpv from CCE and the mp2, it said at the end that there might be errors in the mpeg because of a buffer overflow (in TMPeg). There were in fact some skips at the ends of the mpegs...
My question is, why, if my movie was progressive in DVD2AVI, and the biterate was 23.976, did checking PROGRESSIVE FRAME FLAG under QUALITY in CCE make the encoding fail???
Also, doesn't checking progressive frame flag improve the over all quality? It seemed to in my testings.
