Does anyone know if one of the external DV converters support Pal+ (16:9) with the full resolution? On a 4:3 TV Pal plus has got black bars on top and bottom. 16:9 Pal+ TVs can decode the hidden information (lines) within the 2 black bars and display a full 16:9 image with 574 active lines.
Most DV Converters I think only support Pal, that what gets displayed on a common Pal 4:3 TV - 430 lines & 2 black borders. Some Camcorders and DV codecs support Pal+.

Seems Canopus has updated the Info about the advc300:

If the advc300 also integrates Pal+ support it would be an interesting product...

I think you would need a standalone PALplus decoder. This one from Nokia (http://cgi.ebay.de/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=3057901282) is the only one I know of. I assume it restores the anamorphic (PALplus) picture and sends it to your TV with WSS (wide screen signalling). Of course I have no idea if it would be usable with a Canopus ADVC device.
