When it comes to -R media I prefer Ritek. When it comes to +R media I prefer Ricoh.
However I now need to find good quality -RW media.

I have very little experience with this media.

I have used memorex -RW media and found it to be complete junk.
I have used Maxell -RW media and so far it hasn't been a problem.

Now I need to buy a bunch for a buddy.

For the -R part I will have him get Riteks, but are thier -RW discs any good?

Suggestions on good -RW media and ones to stay away from would be appreciated. Don't worry I won't touch Princo or Optidisc.

Thanks,
Mark

P.S. I did do a rather large search. So if this has been answered before please link it.

Maxell DVD-RW media is made by Mitsubishi, which are among the few +/- RW discs that indeed can be rewritten 1000 times (tested by the C'T). You can also use Verbatim DVD-RW media (also Mitsubishi)

hmmm...dont know if it was a once-off event or not (i dont use -RW all that often) but i had a verbatim -RW that only survived about 10 rewrites before it wouldnt fully erase.
could have been software error (nero 6).....likely!
or user error.....more likely!
or simply a bad disk from an otherwise excellent source.
to be safe, i think i will try to locate some Maxells next.

I've been using Fujifilm DVD-RW's for about 6 months now with no problems. They're 1x but they still work great even still after a few erases and re-writes. But make sure they say "Made in Singapore" or "Made in Japan" on the box/case.
