I am currently using dvdshrink 2.3, and so far its been great. However, on some of the titles that i have ripped i have accidently ripped sthe wrong title in the reauthor section. For example, the other night I ripped the first matrix. When i entered the reauthor mode there was like 3 titles that were the complete movie, but since i could not preview the sound i didnt know that the one i selected was the full presentation with the directors commentary over it. Is there something that im doing wrong in selecting the sound titles, or is there a way to hear the title that you select to rip as well as view it. Ususlly on the sound section I always choose english(dts 6 or 2 channel depending on the size). My other question was, if dvdshrink 3 had a sound preview feature on it. If this question has already been answered on another thread. Im sorry.
Thanks in advance:D

well initially there is some licensing issues with dolby decoders but recently dvdshrink mentioned they're maybe the possibility. DTS or 2.0....you should always choose either DTS or 5.1...never 2.0. That's almost always director's commentary, foreign language. Only way to preview is in PowerDVD or something similiar that I know of.

Hi all.:)
Digital_child, the "Matrix" has a feature that enables you to jump to extras from the movie: the "White rabbit".
Some parts of the video stream are shared between these extras and the movie, hence the number of titles in the "Movie" folder.
To simplify the backup process, go to DVD Shrink "Edit" menu, and under "Preferences", uncheck (or check, I can't remember) "Show overlapping titles combined".
In v3.0b5, "View" >> "Combine shared titles".
Also, unless you've found it incompatible with your system, I'd suggest you give v3.0b5 a try.
It's more flexible than v2.3, and yelds better quality when a fairly high level of compresion is required (by using "Deep analysis").
If you're not familiar with it, you can view the guides at:

DVD Shrink next release will include audio preview, but will require for a software player to be installed (I think). ;)
