Damn, Ritek G03's Discontinued!!!

Just received a call from SupermediaStore and they informed that the plain matt, silver finished Ritek G03s have been discontinued. They're shipping me white, ink-jet printer ones for the same price, but it looks like I'll have to figure out another brand for my day to day burning needs.

It sure was sweet paying less than $1 for media that I knew would work and play on every stand alone I've tossed them into...

Wow that is big news. Anyone have an official press release or something?
I thought they'd eventually go with the G04's but I didn't realize they'd discontinue the G03's so fast.

I do hope that the caller was wrong. Her English wasn't the best, but she did say "discontinued" very clearly. I checked the RIDATA site and there's no mention of G03s being discontinued, but there isn't any mention of G03s at all. The only talk of their 4X General Purpose DVD-Rs and 1X Authoring DVD-Rs, so your guess is as good as mine.

BTW, SupermediaStore is our of stock for almost all the Riteks right now. According to the RIDATA website, RIDATA just gave SupermediaStore an award for being such a good customer. Therefore one has to assume that they've got a good handle on getting inventory so this stock out is odd to say the least. Of course, this is all speculation...
