I'm trying to backup "Farewell to Spaceship Yamato." I know there are subtitles b/c I can see them when I view the dvd with windvd (I can also turn them on and off). When I try to rip them with Subrip, I can't find them. DVD2SVCD can't find them either. Any suggestions?
IfoEdit gives me this info:
SubPicture 1: Not Specified (2-bit rle) (ID: 0x20)
I'm thinking I might be able to fix with IFOedit, but not sure.
Any suggestions? Thx

Did you checked "show all 32 streams" in subrip?

Try this. In your "Title Set (Movie) attributes" in your IFO, double click on subpicture to bring up option window. The only two options you need is be concerned about is
Language type
Language
Set Language Type to present
Set Language to whatever it's supposed to be.
Save and test.

Yes, I have all 32 streams checked, and I checked all 32 of them.
I tried changing the subpicture attributes, but there aren't any. The option window brings up a dialog box with a bunch of zeros in it.
The subtitles are forced, I can see them in DVD2avi. So I just ecoded them in with the video. I did want selectable subs, but I'm happy to just to have subtitles.
Thx.

Rats! What the heck is that  . If by any chance you find an answer, I'd like to know it!
And yes, you're right, one must sometimes be satisfied with what he can afford ;)
