@all,
Hs any1 tried 3kings(time:2hrs), the movie is 2bright in the desert senes, i did use lumafilter (-12, 0.8) but i cant get off contrast. Tried other Limiter and levels but couldn'get off it...
Any way to reduce contrast in the bright frame(desert frames) I am trying to fit this on 1cd with 128kbps audio, the GK says the compress ratio is very low (got around 15% :( ) even 2cd doent give me good compression ratio.
Any combination of filter to reduce contrast!!! would be apperciated
thx

I did it a long time ago, with DivX 3.11, and the result was good, without any filtering. I would not mess with luminosity, since it gives the movie its aspect.

What resolution and codec are you using? You might wanna try latest XviD beta with VHQ4, B-frames 2/1.50/1.00, Adaptive Quantization (Lumi Masking), and Trellis. I'm sure you are gonna get a better 1stPass/2ndPass ratio.
I managed to fit two famous codec killers (U-Turn and Easy Rider :D) into 1CD with 128kbps audio with the above mentioned config., using only UnDot() for filtering.

@cjaar
i can confirm the aboves. i fitted this movie with 115kbps audio (lame, abr128) to 700m wout any problem. i used umaniac's last dev3 xvid build with vhq1 & b-frames 3/(default).
that sceens look pretty funny but u can't do too much with them. & there's no sense to change them as they cause no problem to the codec. try to maintain a reasonable resolution (say, 512x) and u will do.

yeah... i used res:576X with 96kbps(added gain with mp3gain), lumafilter(-12,0.9), unfilter -20, -20 and undot() it came out very well!!! The desert sence looks good now. The compression i got from GK was 38 %, the drf analyser said 3.6 !!! wow i never thought that the drf would be 3.6!!! for such low compression ratio ??
Used divx, standard, gmc, PVE-fast.
