Hi I have been searching for a program that rips CD's and will then convert the resulting .wav's to VBR mp3's. The only problem I've come across from programs like CDex and EAC is that it downsamples the audio on the CD to 44.1Khz and I was looking to keep it at 48Khz. What I am doing now is using Roxio's SoundCreator to rip the .wav's @ 48Khz and then use Lame via Besweet to encode to vbr mp3's...The reason using besweet is somewhat tedious is b/c I have to enter the Id-3 tag's in manually, and when converting most of my music collection, I might go crazy! :D

So I was just wondering if there was a program out there that could do all this (keep freq @ 48Khz, record to vbr mp3 with lame, and automatically write the ID-3 tag for the mp3's). Thanks!

1. CD's audio samplerate, unlike dvd, is 44.1khz
so CDEX is the way to go..
2. BeSweet supports id3 tags. check "lame3" form on BeSweetGUI ;)

oops I didn't know that CD audio was at 44.1khz. Roxio's AudioCentral allows you to rip the CD's at 48khz so I just assumed that that was the highest freq for cd audio. I did know about Besweet's support for id3 tags, it's just not "fun" to copy and paste every cd track title...I'll take a look at CDex again, it seemed to do a pretty good job with the rips. Thanks for you reply!
