Im sure this will get a lot of "do a search next time" people coming in here, but I didnt see anythign similar to this in any of the posts.

Im trying to rip "big wars", however, it has a lot of interlaced and comb'd frames. Ive tried many methods to get rid of the problem.. but i can't get rid of the "ghosting" of fields . The un-forced film dv2 file has all "2's" in it. I would like to get rid of ALL the ghosting artifacts.... but not sure if that is even possible.

can someone point me to a source that will help...

Since you've asked for it : do a search !

More seriously, this is related to filtering, and you should search the avisynth forum, you may find. But if your source is PAL, and the anime was badly masterized, I don't think you'll be able to get rid of ghosting.

Its NTSC 29.97fps.. but ive noticed somethigns that make me think it CAN NOT be fixed.. I was just wondering if anyone else did this dvd from the us yet and HAVE fixed the problem is all...

*can't fix*
the background moves and the characters do not then they move with both fields having half of the info from the previous frame.(usually only the character movment not background..

i finally found the ticket... I used yatta to make a telecine overide file.(time consuming but yeilded the best results) not all of the interlacing could be removed though..even if i decimated frames etc and made it a vfr file...

But the result was non the less pleasing enough to me and better than the orginal dvd source in many ways.

You might want to give FairUse a try. I use it to encode poorly masterized PAL anime DVDs and got pretty good results.
