Is it possible to use DVDDecrypter in file mode to make a backup to the HD, which then afterwards can be burned to a DVDR+ disc? - or will there loss of files/data with this method when I later want to burn it and play it on a regular DVD player?
The reason I ask, is because I have a DVD which contains about 4,4 GB data, but in two layers? I can therefore not use the ISO mode i DVDDecrypter.
If this method fails, do anyone have a better solution instead I can use?

Who said you couldn't use ISO mode?
I recently backed up a disk that Decrypter said was dual layer even though it was less than 4.7 GB. When I burned the ISO it seemed to work fine in my stand-alone player, though I can't say positively that I checked every asset on the disk thoroughly.

I see... - interesting, because that probably means that ISO mode still can be used on "2 layer" DVDs, if the size of it is less than 4,7 GB...? Will try it out on a RW and return.
(Just because the guide "http://www.doom9.org/dvddec.htm#iso" says that its not possible: "If Number of Layers equals 2 then you cannot burn the ISO since DVD blanks only have one layer.")

I see. When I saw that in the guides, I interpreted it to mean "If size is greater than 4.7 GB then you cannot burn the ISO since DVD blanks only have one layer."
The vast majority of dual layer DVDs are over 4.7 GB so the two statements are equivalent most of the time.
Note that my interprestation isn't automatically right, just different. I think it's right, but then it's natural that I would think I was right.
PS: I'm under the impression that the hardware treats a dual layer DVD as one big virtual layer. In other words, as far as the PC is concerned, two 1 GB files on two layers is exactly the same as two 1 GB files on one layer. Does anyone know if this impression is incorrect?
PPS. I wonder how ISO burning will work when dual layer burners come out.

I finished burning on a regular DVDR+ in ISO mode, and everything works fine on a regular DVD player :-D
