Damaged VOB files?

Hi all,


I've seen some different threads dealing with strange VOBfiles but none helps me.

Newbie question:
I've got some VOB files I can't use.
I have :

VTS_01_0.IFO
VTS_01_01.VOB
VTS_01_02.VOB
VTS_01_03.VOB

OK. What I usually do is to create new ifo in ifoedit 0.96.
But now I get this message:
"Could not find any VOB unit in VOB file"
And if I open the .ifo file and try to do some VOB extra I get:
"No Navigation-pack found in VOB file"

I've opened the files in VOBEdit and they all start with the line.
000000 [Navigation Pack] [VOB: 2] [Cell: 1]

I've tried to add the files:

VIDEO_TS.BUP
VIDEO_TS.IFO
VTS_01_0.BUP

in DVDfab but they don't seems to help.

The VOBfiles play perfectly in Power DVD.

Damaged? More like badly renamed.

If the filenames you posted are true and not a typo, they must be in 8.3 format. Eight alphanumeric characters, followed by a period, and then a three letter extension. Which means they should supposed to be...

VTS_01_1.VOB
VTS_01_2.VOB
VTS_01_3.VOB

The filename's letters must also be in CAPITALs.

There is a certain case in which 10.3 filenames are used and VOBedit needs it that way when joining cells. e.g. VTS_01_001.VOB, VTS_01_002.VOB, VTS_01_003.VOB, etc...

Oops...

I'm glad it wasn't a misstype because I have been strugling quite a while...

Sometimes the easiest solutions are the best... Renamed them and now it works perfectly...
