Error cutting SVCD sample

Hi. I have searched thru many a forums trying to search for an answer regarding an odd problem I have. When I mount a bin/cue SVCD created thru dvd2svcd, I will use TMPGE tools to cut a sample. When I select the file and click edit, it will hang up anywheres from 2 - 8 minutes before it will open the edit window. An error pops up saying unable to open with directshow filters...followed by more verbage that is not in english. This happens everytime I try. However, I am able to still make my sample and the samples come out great. Its just that long hesitation/hangup that really drones my PC heavily. Any suggestions fellas cuz im out of ideas :( ?
