I could use some help on this, I tried various ways but it still does not work perfect.

What I did :

Make a movie menu with adobe premiere and cce plugin to m2v, the movie some first pictures moving over the screen on a WHITE background (white bitmap 720x576) . Then 3 text lines turn up

Play Movie
Scene Selection
Extra's

In front of each line a spinning objects (heart) turns up (white background. )
Made a still to make a subpic of 3 squares over the spinning hearts (background blue and red
Squares)

This was the idea :
Imported it in maestro made a intro movie then the menu , setting the movie as background, the 3 red squares on blue background as sub picture. Put three buttons on the 3 squares.

Then made the color setting like this:
When button selected fully transparent (spinning heart), when not selected fully white (RGB = 255 255 255 <=checked colors with edit pallet) so the hearts are not visible. Compiled and burned on dvd-rw.

First on the computer with power dvd is looks perfect (17" TFT ) in Media player I saw some smalldiscoloration around the buttons. But:

The problem:
When playing on my stand alone I can see the buttons, the white squares are not fully white and thus not blending in the white background. Even tried no subpic and used just the settings fully white when selected
, still the same. It looks like maestro can't create fully white buttons. I know black works but I want to use white , any help, ideas please.

Think I found the problem (not the solution)

First I thought the setting of cce could be wrong, it was set to 16 to 235 luminance so
255 255 255 should be more white than the back ground . Only the overlay of the button
was less white so this could not be it. (tried it any way) :sly:

Finally, thinking you have the best dvd player that can play everything great, I tried de dvd in my neighbor's dvd player. Yep you guessed it , it worked perfect, just a spinning heart with a nice professional look . :sly: :scared:

So in the end it's the stand alone dvd player, the overlay colors are not fully white. Which isn't a problem with normal subtitles just when you try to overlay a animated button.

Well I have made slightly bigger hearts for overlay buttons which are a bit gray, not the fully professional look I was hoping for. If any one has a better idee, your welcome. I have thought about a auto action to jump to new menu movie but sound will not be the same and a small hik will show with dvd-r. Maybe using multiple angles could work ? (but will it work with maestro ?)

It might be your TV settings are a little different? Like your brightness/contrast. It might be messing up the video but the overlay is unaffected by it. Stab in the dark here, not sure. You could try making the white background and the white button a shade darker then white... it might have a problem with the pure colors.

Well it's the other way around. The button is not fully white, the background "video" is.

An other work around is to make the button not fully transparent when selected. In this way I will see the button when not selected and when selected except when selected there will be a spinning heart inside the "light gray" heart (made a bigger hearts as overlay buttons). Angle could work I think , but not with Maestro. (finally found a limit and reason to start learing Scenarist :scared: )
