Hi, I have been reading and reading and can't seem to find any info on this at all. I am working with phantom menace. This title has a total of 8 sub streams. It is also a multi-angle title which means the dreaded demux by vob id is required. I am using doitfast4u along with docce4u for the ripping and re-encoding. All angles has been checked and I unchecked CC+ as I could care less about closed captioning.

Everything runs fine, when its done I see what I would expect in the subs folder, 00-07 for each vobid. This movie is chucked full of forced subs, as one would guess. Some of the sub folders have 2 .sst files, one just say english and one forced-english. I am guessing that the intent was to import both streams side by side and then change the matching subs in the english stream to forced manually?

The problem with that is there is litterally 100's of individual forced subs in this picture and that process would take hours. Am I missing something is there a better way to handle this situation??

Thanks for the help.

Well there is one simpler solution, but that's only if you do not care about the second angle. In my case the second angle is the french titlescreen which I personally do not need.

But if you don't care you can just uncheck all angles and rip by pgc. Run it to RA, which will take care of the forced subs for you.

Otherwise it's just as you mention.

oh BTW you can try scenaid (read the sticky thread), this program creates vobid tracks automatically for you. Right now it doesn't do angles, but it's really easy ofcourse to just add an angle to the track that's created for you and then drag the corresponding video to it. I'm not sure if it will handle forced subs automatically, but it certainly is worth a try ;)

Thanks for the info. For some reason I like to torture myself and attempt to make exact replica's of the disk, angles and all.

Here is another tip for anyone else that might attempt one of these films. When your faced with a situation where there are forced subs in a stream, load them both and inspect the streams. Even though there were 100's in mine, on further inspection the non forced stream and the forced stream were exactly the same except for a few very short subs that were actually blank, as in no actuall text was to be displayed. Why they would do this I have no idea. But the good news here is instead of loading the non forced stream and checking each sub, you can simply load the forced stream in its place. The forced stream that vob-sub creates will import into Scenarist with all the forced attributes all ready checked.

Hope that helps someone save some time, again thanks for the reply you guys are really great in here.
