LG-4040B backups problem

Hi.

After making DVDs backups, the pc can read then, but two friends with samsung drives(standalones) have problems reading this DVDs. I use RITEK -R media.
I tried recording with nero, BHA Gold5(it came with the drive) and Discjuggler. Stomp RecordNow Max 4.5 doesn't recognize this drive, and no updates are available.
I had ASPI 4.60 and then installed 4.71.2, the problem continues.
Another friend with a mustek driver had no problem reading it, and the ps2 also no problem.

Anyone tried backups in a samsung standalone? if ok, wich software did you use?

I've done backups with the toshiba sdr5002 and primo dvd, work fine with samsun standalones.

Have you tried using ImageTool to burn your discs? Or creating a disc image and then writing that with nero?

Before LG 4040B, I had DRU-500AX and had no problems with samsung standalones, using nero or recordnow max.

I didn't tried with imagetool. I am going to give it a try.

Another thing is that the dvds recorded at 4x(Ritek), now don't work near the end of the DVD. The burn was a sucess, but watching the movie, near the end, i supose near the 4GB, the image freezes, and the movie stops.

I saw in another forum(don't remember wich one), a person who had this problem solve it buy using a more powerfull "power supply", replacing the old 300W buy one of 450W. Do you think this is related?

I was interested in getting the LG-4040 drive as well. Do you think you can tell me the pros and cons of this burner and if you have had experienced any problems with it?

Hi

Beside the problem i have with recorded dvds in samsung standalones, I have no problem with this drive.
I have firmware A301, and can record princo media at 4x without a problem.
I think if you buy this burner, you will have no problem, but in computer world, nothing is for sure.
