Hi folks,

I´ve tried to transcode a DTS (48/1536) to DTS (48/768) using

besweet.dll (1.5b23);
azidts.exe (0.1)
WinDVD Platinum 5.5
SurcodeDVD Pro 1.021 (on 768)

via

besweetGUI (0.6)

using the setting DTS to DTS.

After chosing the 6 channel option in the WinDVD Plugin azidts started to work calculating peak (I guess). After 1h45min (ecact length of the source) the whole process ended up with 6 monofiles (each 1kb) and a not surprising error message from surcode which reflects that encoding is not possible.

Using BeSweet.dll v1.5b23 by DSPguru (http://DSPguru.Doom9.org)
Using Shibatch.dll v0.24 by Naoki Shibata & DSPguru (shibatch.sourceforge.net).

Logging start : 11/24/03 , 15:12:21.

c:\programme\ewms media 1.32\azidts.exe -core( -input i:\hancock2\Delay_-40ms.dts -output H:\mono -logfilea C:\Programme\EWMS MEDIA 1.32\BeSweet.log ) -surdvd( -b 768 -output h:\Delay_-40ms-New.dts -path C:\Programme\Minnetonka Audio Software\SurCode DVD DTS ) -ota( -G peak )

2. attemp was only to decode -> DTS to WAV (output 6 mono WAVs) with besweetGUI but ended up with the same results.

On the HD, where the monofiles should be stored was enough space (10GB) so I´ve no idea where my mistake is.

Logging start : 11/24/03 , 16:59:22.

c:\programme\ewms media 1.32\azidts.exe -core( -input i:\hancock2\Delay_-40ms.dts -output h:\Delay_-40ms-New- -6ch -logfilea C:\Programme\EWMS MEDIA 1.32\BeSweet.log ) -ota( -G peak )

Can someone give me hint

Thx Daphy

the "-6ch" feature known to work, at least with v1.5b17 dll.
try omitting the "-G peak"

c:\programme\ewms media 1.32\azidts.exe -core( -input i:\hancock2\Delay_-40ms.dts -output F:\Temp\mono -logfilea C:\Programme\EWMS MEDIA 1.32\BeSweet.log ) -surdvd( -b 768 -output i:\hancock2\Delay_-40ms-New.dts -path C:\Programme\Minnetonka Audio Software\SurCode DVD DTS ) -ota

seams to work - but ... eh this ones really slow (realtime) ;)

One question to this subject:

In the latest GUI (0.7b1) I can´t find the option 6 mono-wav as output anymore -> so I use DTS to DTS

this leads me (again) to
c:\programme\ewms media 1.32\azidts.exe -core( -input i:\hancock2\Delay_-40ms.dts -output H:\mono -logfilea C:\Programme\EWMS MEDIA 1.32\BeSweet.log ) -surdvd( -b 768 -output h:\Delay_-40ms-New.dts -path C:\Programme\Minnetonka Audio Software\SurCode DVD DTS ) -ota( -G peak )

daphy,

Have you encode succefully 768K DTS file?

I've tried to do it and I got the final result. However the DTS file can not be imported at VDubMod properly. VDubMod said that it's very short DTS file and can not be muxed with video file.

AVIMux can mux my DTS file. But the AVI file is desynced.

I use same version that you test. Would you advice the result?

yep

You tried to mux a AVI with a DTS, am I right? BTW something I noticed while using AVIMUX (1.16 - I know a couple of days ago a new version apear) the muxed AVI (including 1 AC3 stream) are incompatible to my Kiss DP-450, same material with VDubMod (latest, of course) worked fine - maybe in defect header???
DTS file can not be imported at VDubMod properly
I always thought that VDubMod only can handle AC3

Have to checkout this both by myself

Daphy,

It seems like that you don't play the muxed avi actually. Am I right? Please try to play back.

I would like to attach the sample file. However I don't know how can. Please let me know the way to do it.

Thanks in advance.

Hi there,

well ive noticed that some self-produced DTS files (768 and 1536) wouldnt play in VideoLAN. I fixed them with BeSplit (BeSliced) - which solved it (fixing them via DTSParser didnt work).

BTW both forms fixed and unfixed where playable by MediaPlayer.
So its a bit odd, maybe the unfixed files contained some unnecessary garbage [therefore resulting in playback problems] - but I was too lazy to check them via hexeditor.

ANYWAY just give BeSplit a try.

WoW!

BeSpilt fixed IT!

Thanks very much for your comment!!

Well changjunk,

im glad it worked out for you too, but you shouldnt thank me -
more DSPguru for providing us with such useful tools :).
What BeSplit version did you use btw ??

@daphy

sorry i overread that with your DTS muxed into AVI "already" containing an AC3 audio stream.
Well no wonder your Mpeg-4 player didnt play that file considering the total data bandwith it had to handle - for the audio alone.

But still i doubt there is a mpeg4 hardware player which can actually playback DTS - as it has to correctly output the signal raw via optical out.

You should try it again - just to find out.

First also correct your DTS file with BeSplit.
Then get rid of the present AC3 in your AVI.
Well AVI-Mux is a very useful programme when it comes to avi muxing/demuxing - but its GUI isnt very userfriendly / or logical (no offence to the author) ;).
So insert your avi into AVI-Mux - choose "no audio" and "no subtitles" - then process it - the output should only contain the video.
Finally just insert that video only avi file into AVI-Mux again and multiplex it with the desired DTS file.

Good luck

Well Planet1,

I also thanks to DSPguru for such a nice tool.
BTW I use BeSplit v0.9b6.
