Good to see people looking into helping vobid projects. Just wanted to voice my support. :) If this tool eventually automates the Scenarist part of doing a vobid project, I will love you forever, well maybe only until dual layer burners are standard.

New RC1 posted which fixed a few issues with current posted version - updated to update.zip file as listed above.

RC2 will be released in the next few days.... this version included a new look, complete IFO processing (runs about 5x as fast this way), angle support.

Once I am fairly sure this new version is working properly (by people testing and letting me know) I'll start working on getting the actual scenario authored. PGC and VOBID!

I would be willing to test any new versions you have...
I have the new collector's edition of The Lion King on DVD and it needs to be demuxed by VOBID. I have successfully reauthored it by hand but would like to see how your program would work with it. I know how the structure is supposed to end up so I would be able to give you good feed back.

let me know..

any new updates regarding the release?

Working hard on it.... ran into some snags calculating Duration/Information for the Audio tracks which I'm attempting to iron out. (if any others out there would like to share info on drop-frame calculations and AC3/DTS headers I'd be much appreciated)

If I can't get them worked out in the next day or so I'm going to skip file/audio detection and work off imported files as current version does and worry about that after everything else is working correctly...

To be honest, I have only received feedback from a couple people on if it's working for them or not and have been working directly with them.

did you run the installer first or just grab the .exe?

That be the first thing I'd check...

make sure your path to ifoupdate is correct too..

If all that's fine then check your HKEY_Current_user/Software/SceneAid key

export that and email to me at the address above...

i ran the installer and the ifo update is fine.....

it imports the doitfast log fine
it comes up when i input the sceanarist file.....after it imorts the error comes up then when i click ok the program closes...?ill email u the key:

d4g: when you run sceneaid and it dies, check you registry before running it again. key should be HKCU/Software/SceneAid - export that whole key

jaocc: email me your SceneAid.scp file - i'm interested in seeing where it's blowing up

email me your SceneAid.scp file...

Not sure what you mean by "VTS by DoItFast4u" - you need to select the Doitfast4u demux directory and the File you created in Scenarist.. it should do the rest..

My time tables are way off :D (looking back to when I said a few days)

I'm pretty close to releasing another version... I want to make sure all the bugs I can see are worked out...

I'm off all next week (isn't end of the year time off great) so I'll definitely have time to finish up the outstanding issues....

Currently I'm in the need of :
1) an accurate way to tell duration of audio (ac3/dts/pcm) - right now I import as place holders to get correct audio duration - I'm even willing to use an external cli compat program to read the info....

2) a logical reason why scenarist's frames -> BCD conversion seems off... 307 frames at 30fps (or 29.97) comes out to 00:00:10:06 - missing a frame as far as I can tell -- those of us who hate those 'different duration' warnings will appreciate this

Thanks for the patience from everyone..... hopefully it'll be worth the wait

D3s7
2nd January 2004, 19:57
Well I've figured out #2 - all video imports so far have been accurate (yeah... no more duration warnings)..

Now if someone could give a hand with audio I'd be a real happy camper :D

Hi, I would like to try sceneaid (I'm reautoring alien quadrilogy where each disc has more than 70 vob IDs) but the links seem to be dead :(
could you fix them?

great proggy by the way works well....

one thing that stumped me for a bit....
it generated my sub files and i imported the script into scenarist.... only with the wide setting selected......

in the track editior i couldnt see the subtitle streams but they r there... thats the funny thing... i had to use the navigation control to set the setting to wide/letter....

could u implement thats the script defauls to wide/letter..... for importing with scene aid...

other thing is it supposed to hide the stream like that after imoprting the script....

and it takes long to to the vob id layout..for somereson everytime i put a vob id or pgc on to a title i have to wait for it to stop thiunking and till it shows me that it has placed the item ....

Thanx

Latest build is being tested by internal testers right now... if all goes well new version will be posted as early as later today...

Sorry it took so long but I didn't think it made sense to release a build before it was in good condition.

d4g: yeah that version had problems w/ aspect ratios.. should be fixed in this one..

Thanks for the effort.

I am trying to use SceneAid to back up the 3rd part of Alien.
As you said I located the dif4u folders as well as the script from scenarist (which was created after importing audio and video files)
But SceneAid gave me a runtime error and disappeared :(
Should I send the script to you or I am doing something wrong ?

I should add that the error message was:

Run-time error '35601':

Internal testers are testing now and we are hashing out the bugs.

Ok guys.. need a little assistance here..

desperatly need code or an app that will create a dummy audio file based off type/channels/bitrate
type = ac3/dts/pcm

IE AC3,2,768

there's just too many possible combinations to have thse in the install dir like I currently do

Yes I know RA does this so it can be done

I'm trying to figure out the body of an ac3file myself (headers I have) but there's more to it then just modifying the header to make a valid ac3 file

DSPGuru's 'BeSliced' produces dummy clips for ac3, but it doesn't support dts and pcm afaik.

But I saw in the audio section, that you're already onto something with jsoto :)

Besliced doesn't always work good for me. Besides that I don't know if it has cli support, which d3s7 probably needs.

D3s7
14th January 2004, 22:12
Well here's what I'm going to do for now (at least for ac3)

If a use doesn't demux any of the audio stream it doesn't matter what I pad with so that will be done w/ a 192k 2ch ac3 file

If a PGC just doesn't have audio it needs a pad so I'll be generating a dummy ac3 w/ besplit which does have CLI from one of the other PGC's audio

I think bsplit works w/ DTS too.... just not pcm

jsoto's app only support ac3 that I can see..

AFAIK it's not for public download at the moment, only a few people have the recent beta.

Don't ask, I'm not one of them... ;)
