Moore's law's has a few years left in it. A nanometer is one billionth of a meter. To give you an idea of the scale were talking about here a human hair is 75,000 nanometers and a red blood cell is 5,000 nanometers across. I find this quite unbelievable. Imagine telling that to someone at the beginning of the century.

I guess Biro = ball point pen.

Based on Intel's second chart (New process every 2 years) I won't be seeing one of these chips until around 2007 or so since I didn't get a 130nm chip until 2003, or a 180nm chip until 2001, I think.

Because takes a year for them to actually get the chips on the street in quantity, and then another year before they are priced at a reasonable (for me) level.
