View Full Version : Utility to divide lengthy sequence into multiple AVI files?

It would be helpful if there is a utility that will convert a lengthy sequence into numerous 2GB AVI fles and then feed those numerous (112 or so) files into an encoder such as Cinema Craft SP for encoding.

The reason I am asking is that I have found uncompressed AVI files exported from AVID Xpress Pro allow me to encode better MPEG-2 files for burning DVD's that do exported and encoded Quick Time Reference files. My calculations indicate that if the 83 minute video timeline is divided into a series of 2GB uncompressed AVI files, there will be approximately 112 individual AVI files

These 112 AVI files would then be fed into SP for encoding.

If there is such a program, please advise.

Thank you.

Quit posting new posts if you can't answer the ones you have up that bear on the same subject. Thank you. http://forum.doom9.org/showthread.php?s=&threadid=65485

Actually DDogg used to be a mod, and is well respected here.

You might want to pull your foot out now.

BTW: I'd recommend using HuffyYUV instead of uncompressed AVI. It's lossless, and cuts file sizes by 2½ to 3.

You might also want to check out a program called BatchCCE (or whatever it's latest incarnation is called).

Kedirekin, actually I am modding again for a while. I fear this gentleman is one where the phrase, "a little knowledge is dangerous" might apply. Numerous people have attempted to help, but have received no cooperation by way of reply, and in a very cavalier manner. Ignorance is not bliss and embracing it does not generally help solve problems. Oh well :)

Don R. - Your reply was an insult (rule #4), and you did not follow the instruction given (rule # 16). BTW, I never foam, but I do bite. Have a nice day
