View Full Version : Problem with screen positioning...

I have a problem when I burn VCDs. I've had this problem before and managed to fix it, but I don't remember how. I have the movie "Out Cold" as an .avi and wanted to make a VCD for backup and to watch. I transcoded it using TMPGEnc (with KVCD templates, Noise Reduction, took about 10 hours to do; look's real nice; small file size). However, when I burned it, it only showed up in the upper left corner of the screen. I want it to be full screen, but still retain it's widescreen properties.
The .avi file is 583 x 320, and I kept it that resolution. I think it has something to do with the screen options in TMPGEnc (Center, Center Keep Ratio 1, Maximize, Maximize Keep Ratio 1, Custom etc.)
Rather than waste 10 or 20 CDs trying to figure this out, I figured I'd ask the almighties. :D

Thanks,

Videos for vcd, svcd, and dvd are required to be certain sizes. You didn't state if you were using NTSC or PAL. Since I'm more familiar with NTSC:
vcd - 352x240
svcd - 480x480
dvd - 720x480, 704x480, 352x240

Re-encode you file and use the correct sizes. This should clear up your problem. You should also chooses the option for Full Screen(Keep aspect ratio) under the settings tab.

I am not positive but for PAL:
vcd - 352x288
svcd - 480x576
dvd - 720x576, 704x576, 352x576

Hopefully, if I am wrong someone will correct me.
