From the following ones:

intervideo dvdcopy
dvdxcopy
dvdshrink
...
which of these ones would achieve the BEST video quality?
is there any of these that can use CCE engine to reencode?
thx

DVD2One is the best.
No wait, Instant Copy is the best.
On the other hand, DVDCopy is the best.
No, I meant DVDXCopy.
I was wrong, DVDShrink is obviously the best.
Um, are you aware of forum rule # 12: Do not ask "what's best" because this question cannot be answered objectively.

lol: I was looking for that rule the other day :D, and it was right in front of me :o
none of those programs use use CCE, such programs as DVD2DVDR and DoItFast4U use CCE. DVD2DVDR now also has it's own engine though I have not used it
as for which is best, it's as Kedirekin states. They will all be the best for at least someone. Most have demos so it's best you try them yourself and use your own eyes and setup as that DVD you create may look different through someone else's eyes on a different setup ;)
I have my opinions as to which is best and that's whichever is best suited to my requirements
here's my quote again :)
"..In the end it's a matter of individual perception and the level of quality delivered by the playback system..."

lol, sorry,,, I just have to ask this regarding to the rule 12 - Why we canīt define which is the best....
When I think of the word Best... I think of it as.... better than anyother or anything.
And in this case,, I would define Best, to the program which makes the best copy of the original and I mean the picture quality and that is the main question no matter what process of work it is to be made. The Audio is left untouched really, nothing "compressed" there, at least not yet.
But ofcourse I am referring to these commercial and freeware programs on a personal home computer and not those fabrics which have machines and special software to print DVDs hehe (had to mention this lart part in incase anyone would really suggest it :p)
So...... making the "best" DVD backup may be a pain in the arse and would probaly take days for a somewhat fairly good user... but when it is finally done it is really the best, is it not? Wether it is played from your 20' inch mono TV or played in the Cinema on the 100 thousands of dollars worth Projector.
With a few other programs you might say to be the "Best" cus it was the easiest way to backup your DVD movie, but what it really will be is only good, yes it will be good for you and for you only, well almost at least But it wouldnīt sure be the very best cus you know deep inside you that it can be made even better.
LOL how would it be like if the companies made... I dunno, about 5 different versions of the DVD movies, one for every 5 cathegories for suitable playback equippments. But then again, that is why they use dual layered discs right? to make it the very Best
Now I will tell you what is the "Best" program to make a backup of your DVD movie... and it is [................] *muted by the admin*
so thatīs that, and I think it sounds pretty fair enough with the definition of the word "best"
thanks.. I mean no harm just so you know and I am not expecting this post will make any difference on the boardīs descision
