Multiple Xvid Versions

Hi-

I couldn't find this using the search, but if it's been posted before, just point me to the post.

I find that nic's latest xvid decoder works best on my PC abd is clearer than keopi's (latest unstable - stable doesnt work). But obviously i can't encode with nic's, so what i would like to know, is can i install nic's normally, then install koepi's to another directory and have one for decoding, and one for encoding ?

Install Nic's, make a copy of xvid.ax. Uninstall it, install Koepi's then just replace his xvid.ax with Nic's.

Surely the simplest answer is to install Koepi's build. Then goto my site and download the "XviD DirectShow Decoder Only" Install then run that which will only install the decoder. :)

on a note similar to the orginating post in this topic, i have a question. i have been alternating between using koepi's most recent unstable build, and building new daily builds of the devapi4 branch of the xvid cvs for testing. what i don't know how to do is install each such that they can coexist simultaneously on my system, i've tried adjusting the labelling and whatnot in the vfw part of the devapi4 source, but have been unsuccessful.

i haven't seen this covered anywhere in the forum, so i hope i'm not wasting anyone's time

Try using Koepi's build with ffvfw. Just copy the xvid.dll from Keopi's build into ffvfw's folder then select XviD as the encoder under ffvfw configuration. However, I am not sure if you will be able to access of all of XviD features.

Now can install the devapi4 build as the regular XviD encoder.
