Is it possible to watch a movie on the tv (thru tv-out) and at the same time do other things on the computer, so that on the tv only movie would be seen...

Does any player allow that?

Thank You.

Yes it is possible. Just leave the movie playing and minimize the player on your computer and carry on working. As long as your TV is set as your full screen device then it is fine, long as PC is fast enough to do both at same time. Just don't try encoding ... he he.

I have "Hercules 3d prophet 4500 Tv-out" graphic card.

Where can I set my TV as my full screen device?

I can only set "tv out + monitor" option in
Display properties/Settings/Advanced/Tv Out/Tv&Monitor (duplicate) second option is "TV Off"...

Thank You.

I'm not familiar with the Hercules 3d prophet 4500 at all. It does have to support dual display though ie using more than one screen or PC screen + TV at same time.

Yes it supports monitor + tv at the same time, but the picture on the tv is the same as on the monitor... If you minimize the player, it will also minimize on the tv, so it is for no use at all.

Hi,

I don't know if this is supported on your hercules, but on nvidia cards you can watch movies on your tv and use your apps on your monitor using an option called "video overlay". Your Hercules drivers might have a similar option. I don't think this option can be controlled by your media player.

as well as setting up your display settings and setting up the tv as a fullscreen device, you also have to use the right playback software.

I recommend you download Zoom Player:
http://www.majorgeeks.com/download413.html

when you install it, go to settings, then click 'Filter Control', then under the Video Renderer: select Overlay Mixer

ok now your ready to watch your DivX movies on your TV.
if you want to do other stuff while displaying the video on the TV, just Minimize Zoom Player.

Thank you for your help and support, but I guess it is just the video card that doesn't support different things to be shown on tv and monitor. It can just produce duplicate... Crappy card.

Thanks again.
