When you create a 5.1 surround should you set the surround pan for every wav file.

Like Front left, you should only have the front left surround pan on ??

I did a couple of ac3 files, on this way. Don't know if i'm doing this ok.

I have re-encoded some AC3 tracks using vagas recently.
I set the pannings according to the track involved.
eg LF = LF pan, SR = SR pan, LFE = LFE etc.
Sounds perfect in standalone player.

But with the Center track i use the following surrond pan:
front-left, center, right-left.

I did this because i didn't hear any voice when putting it only on center surround pan


Is this ok what i'm doing ?

Pan them all to their respective channels, then on center adjust the level to be +6db. If you look on the panning location you will then see that it's level matches all other channels = 0.0 (open each to confirm if you wish), and when played back all channels are evenly leveled (test on same wav file for each channel and watch mixer).
