Some interesting stuff in here:
ftp://ftp6.nero.com/presse/DB_NeroRecode2_US.pdf

Just some of what's listed:

- Copy the full content 1:1 or make your own decisions:
* Decide which audio tracks and subtitles to keep or remove
* Decide which video titles and extras to keep or remove
* Replace unwanted video titles with slideshow, custom picture, or custom color
* Decide if you want to keep any DVD-ROM material or even add your own data files
* Decide if you want to keep or delete "unreferenced material"
- Video and audio preview with expanded window view and fullscreen mode. Includes full Dolby Digital audiopreview (DTS preview through S/PDIF)
- Unique Watch-while-you-Burn mode allows you to enjoy the movie in full screen video and multichannel audio while copying a full DVD, re-authoring a DVD or converting DVDs to Nero Digital
- Quick or deep analysis mode with video preview to guarantee the best possible quality when re-sizing
- Burn to disc, create disc image, or save to hard drive
- Make your own DVD using one or multiple video titles to create one seamless title
- Copy DVDs to CDs using the world's fastest MPEG-4 audio and video encoder

Sounds a lot like more of DVD Shrink is being incorporated into Recode. Plus more.

Considering Recode 1.0 hasn't been released yet, I wonder when Recode 2 will make its debut.

Oh, looks like release is next month!

Ahead is giving it away free in the Nero PowerPack, which will be free all loyal Nero 6 Ultra Edition retail users.

create disc image is awesome. I hope it's .iso and not .nrg though.

Unique Watch-while-you-Burn mode allows you to enjoy the movie in full screen video and multichannel audio while copying a full DVD, re-authoring a DVD or converting DVDs to Nero Digital
:), a unique feature sounds amazing as it's labelled as HOT on the pdf, but I can't see anything HOT about it. Just burn at 1X and watch the DVD using PowerDVD anyway as most PC's will handle it :). The burn will be finished before the movie

does it will burn direct to DVD from the HD without first creating the files in a destination folder?. I don't think I would ever burn a DVD without first seeing the outcome. I'd like to make sure it plays without hanging and I'd like to check the DVD first making sure it's the way I wanted it before creating a coaster. I suppose you could use a DVDRW and you can erase it if something goes wrong but then you have wasted all that time burning and erasing and have to stop watching the movie to reburn :)

I cannot see how it means you can watch the DVD as it will look after processing as that means it will have to create the modified files on the HD first and then burn while playing the DVD. As I said above then why not just use PowerDVD to play the files as they are being burned at 1X?. Maybe it's not possible I don't know but why watch while you burn, what's the rush?

am I missing something as it is a great feature?

don't get me wrong as I think it's going to be a great program seeing considering who's developing it ;) but I'm puzzled by what this feature is . Anyone have any ideas what it could be?

The PDF talks about Recode's its' ability to convert DD 5.1 to "Nero Digital 5.1" Wonder what that is??

My guess would be it's their multi-channel version of mpeg4.

I bet its AAC audio, either HE or LC. Most probably LC.

I sure hope Recode's update has been completed so DVDShrink could work on his version. :-P

Anyways, Recode sounds quite impressive now. Audio and video preview, Deep Analysis, ability to remove certain titles and retain menus, ability to combine multiple titles into one.
