1.7.1 is out... the homepage ( http://www.dvd2dvd-r.de ) claims: "Ein Bug in der Transcoderengine ist gefixt"
Judging from the number of smiley faces in the german forum, the transcoder is well received. :)

Bugs found in this version:
-The "force film" option is not available with any encoder.
-You can not use the mpeg2 encoder with some big titles.

Can't figure out why they needed a Compressed-Domain-Transcoder in this program. It was good the way it was.

it would be great if the internal transcoder was rejig.
Does anyone know about the internal transcoder?

It's like Chatwalker has been giving out free apple pie and now he's putting ice cream on it.
I'm really pleased that there is active interest in the free tools world in mpeg2 transcoding.

It's more like he already had the icecream (cce), now he added some sprinkles.
To be honest, I'm happy when someone writes a really good free usable program and this program is really good.

just ran a quick test. setting output size to 70%(as near as i could).
hmm the transcoding engine produces the same size(give or take a couple of K) as rejig after i did the sizing changes. hmm ok look at them in bitrate viewer. hmm same bitrate and quantisation changes aswell.
so the only conclusion i can come to is yes it uses the transcoder used by rejig. funny but i doint see that mentioned in any documentation and i dont see any source code or mention of availability upon request. in fact it there is very little documentation at all. hmmm.
so really its more like icecream with sprinkles where the sprinkles have been given to chatwalker for free, but he doesnt tell you that. make of that what you will. :)

:) maybe you're right and it is rejig. If so, then I'm pretty impressed by rejig. I like the output.

How are people using 1.7.1? I find ForceFilm is greyed out (not accessable) in this version. And there are others who have also experienced the same problem. Is this another case of it works in "PAL-world" but those of us in "NTSC-land" are out-of-luck?
No matter... 1.5.1 and Scenarist do work here!
