IMHO 1.avi gives better quality on the slow scene (faces and the "letters"), while in the action scene there are lots of macroblocks (in the sky).
Other 3 files have lots of artifacts around the "letters" and faces aren't so clear, but the sky is sometimes better than 1.
I hope to be useful for testing ;)

Same here Sharro :).
Proves my problem was a download corruption, this time it worked.
@Cruncher:
Two things though:
1) WHY THE HELL PEARL HARBOR?! It's such a crap movie to test with!
2) Sound would've been more interesting if I have to watch the same crap scene 4 times in a row :D.

Is this some sort of Rorschach-Test?
Are there any subliminal messages between the blocks & floating textures?

Of course. It proves what kind of artifacts you prefer, and how well your ability to spot them is. ^_^ This of course can be traced back to childhood traumas and past happy associations in your life :D.
