Hi. In my previous post I had some problems with the imagesize when encoding with tmpgenc. Have re-encoded with cce 2.50 and the image-size was spot on.

Now i'm trying to convert a second movie but the size of the third image file is actually 666 MB  while the others
is on 805 MB. How can I get the third image to fill out the cd?

I use Dvd2svcd 1.2.1 build3, avisynth 2.52, on win2000 sp4, P3 933. Encoder CCE 2.50 multipass VBR with 4 pases and "anti noise filter" has been cheked. All CD-size entities on the bitrate-tab is set to 800.

Here is my dvd2svcd_log.txt

Hi sberg43

Max. bitrate: 2530
Avg. Bitrate: 2230

Avg rate is limited by Max average rate (bitrate tab), so the encoded movie will not fill the available capacity. As bbmpeg cuts the mpg just until the limit of the first and second CDs, only the third CD will not be completely filled

Increasing Max average rate has no sense for two reasons:
- there will not be more quality in SVCD resolutions.
- it could provoke malfunctions in CCE (there must be a difference between Max and Max Avg)

BTW, it is highly recommended to use D2SRoBa plugin, same quality than 4 or 5 passes, but with only one pass (occasionally two). Also, it will check the "compressibility" of the movie and can select for you the "best" number of CDs.
