I purchased a I/O magic unit and tried making backups of sleeping beauty and nero and found in both cases it was fine until the last five minutes of the movie. It would in the last five minutes stop then restart then stop and restart a few times. I found that on different players it was not as bad as on others. Also it the movie played fine on the computer. I also tried dvd-r but the I/O magic unit would not record them at all and they were sony disk. I also found that dvdrw disk had less stops that dvd+r. After trying different disk and updating firmware I gave up and returned the unit.
I have another band of rewriter on order. I was wandering is this a problem with certain rewriters with certain disk or is there something else causing this. Used DVDshrink and copytodvd to make the disk.

This is a great forum I have done a lot of reading here and learned alot.

Welcome to the forum :),

it looks like cheap/bad media problem. What media did you use?

Yes I figured that had something to do with it since it was at the end but since they were the ones circuit city advertised with the rewriter I said it was time to return the unit and get another band. Reading I/O forum shows a lot of problems with there rewriter and certain bands of disk. It was funny I could record on Maxwell rewrite disk and there was only a couple of stops at the end.

received new lg writer and this one works not only that made a backup of sleeping beauty on Legacy dvd-r disk at 2x not 4x and it work. Never trusted cdrwrites to record at there top speed and do not at this time plan on trying it with DVDs better to take twice as long as to waste disk.
