Region Free

If I make a region free dvd does the standalone player and burning both have to be region free also? If I rip a dvd with smartripper with region free checked, does the player have to be region free. thanks

If a DVD is a region free one, then it implies that this DVD can be playable on every standalone and software players, no matter whether its a region free or not.(BTW, DVD players bought after year2000 have region detection mechanism --- i.e its not region free)
