Hi!
Only one question: What for is the "Min. between subs" value?
If it is set to 100 ms it will leave a 100 ms space between subtitles?
How does it do, if space in the original sub file is smaller? Get the first one shorter and leave the latter to begin at the original time?
I'm just asking it becouse have problem: the original subs are adjusted fine, but in SVCD in the middle of the 2nd CD it is shifted a bit forward. From that position the time difference is fix, at the end of the movie the difference is the same (about 1,5 s).
project:
avi-->SVCD
SVCD subs with winsubmux
default settings.

IMHO, it is very unlikely that a subtitle duration would be of the order of magnitude of ms, so it should not produce overlaping.
But from the newbie reference (http://www.doom9.org/mpg/dvd2svcd_newbieref.html#5):
ms between subs just leave milliseconds of 100 unless you notice it out of synch
I don't know the exact answer to your question, but try playing a little with that to see if it helps. It has never happened to me though. Please report back, if it works it may help other people.

Hello again!
I've tried to set "ms between subs" to 1ms. Did not help. Subs are shifted forward, but noticed one thing:
1) the first cd is ok.
2) the second CD on the beginning is ok, at the end the desync (between sub and voice) about 2 sec. The CD overlap is 2 sec.
Seems as the subtitle of the 2nd CD has been streched.
Can it be?

Also, try not creating CD images and see if the single MPG created file also has the subtitle shift at the same point.

Checked the mpeg file (bbmpeg subbed) with the log file of Winsubmux. Problem remained the same.

Hi!
Did some experimenting:
I have encoded the movie to one file, by setting the cd size to 1600MB. Subs are still shifted forward, difference is still about 1,5-2s, but desync appears earlyer in the movie. Conclusion: cutting has no effect on this problem. Can not imagine, what couses this.
Any suggestion?
Q2: During the avi2svcd project, a log file is created with the following format:
en100001.bmp 00:00:30,95 00:00:34,79 392 81 156 480
which means:
<file name> <start time> <end time> <...>
Can I use this to verify the timing of SVCD subs?
Thanks in advance.

Hello again!
I have tried to create a other movie with svcd subs. No. of CDs:3. The subs are out of sync on last cd again. The first two is ok. The 3rd one is OK in the begining, but at the end subs are faster with 1,5-2 secs. Problems seems to be with the mpeg file.
How can I check the frame noumber?
