I used Gordian Knot to copy a DVD (Mortal Kombat) and I ran into two problems. The first one is there is no audio what's so ever. when I ran the third stage I set the fist and second audio tracks using the AC3 files on the folder but there was no audio to speak of. Also the video quality was sub-par but I think that there is a video compression issue behind that one. If anyone has any ideas I'd greatly appreciate it.

Hello, and welcome to the forum-
Maybe you haven't yet installed the AC3 Filter (http://www.doom9.org/Soft21/Filters/ac3filter_0_70b.exe).
As for the video, did you run a compression test first to make sure the final quality would be any good? I think not. And if you have any problem with GKnot being too hard or complex, then maybe give the new GordianKnotItFast4U a try:

I've got the AC3 filter in place so I know that's not the problem. I may not the right AC3 filter in place if there are more then one kind. And as for the compression test, I previewed the video in DVD2AVI and since the video was 98% film and I didn't use the force film. I don't know if that counts.
And saying "I think not" comes off as smug and condesending and I don't appreciate it.

Please respect forum members and moderators, we're here to help. The DVD2AVI film percentage has nothing to do with the compressibility test. Mortal Kombat is an extremely poorly mastered DVD and you'll have trouble getting any kind of good results. Watch the original DVD on your computer monitor and you'll see what I mean, there's very little quality there to begin with.
As far as the audio goes, you could try rendering the file with GraphEdit or examining the file with GSpot to see if you have things installed correctly.

Hi-

Well, I did intend it as a mild reproof, but nothing as serious as you seem to think. Every guide I've ever seen on GKnot mentions running the compression test, and in my opinion it's one of the best aids we have in helping to determine how many CDs to use and at what resolution to get good results.
And KpeX is right. Get GSpot (http://www.doom9.org/Soft21/Editing/gspot221.exe) and make sure you have the filters necessary, that it can be rendered successfully, and that the AC3 is even in the movie. If it's a question of audio volume, one solution is to go into the AC3 Filter Configuration and set the Preset for Loud (down in the lower left corner).
