What is SceneAid?

Ever do a VOBID demux?
Ever spent what seems like hours importing Scenes into Scenarist?

That's where SceneAid comes into play

Simply Start your Scenarist project, Create the tracks and export as a Script File, then load up SceneAid

By Selecting your DoItFast4u! demux directory and your Scenarist Script File, SceneAid will create the Scenes in a new Script file for you

Much more Planned in the near future as well.
- Auto Creation of Tracks (By Request)
- Import Scenes and Subs into file (By Request)
- Angle Processing
- Log files / Log Window
- Save IFOUpdate path in Registry
As with any new app, I'm sure the questions will flood in but to answer up front a few basic ones:

Q) Isn't this what ScenChap does?
A) Yes and no, ScenChap works GREAT if you have a PGC only demux or don't mind copy/paste scene info into the tabs for a VOBID Demux. But throw in 90+ VOBID's you wanna pull your hair out by time your done)

Q) Why do I need IFOUpdate?
A) Well if you don't have it already then you've got other problems. But to answer this question, SceneAid uses IFOUpdate to extract Chapter information for PGC's and VOBID's

Q) Why link directly to DoItFast4U!?
A) DoItFast4U IMO is the best method to demux / pre process your Video. It's the method I use and if you don't, I suggest you try it

Q) Why not add support for other programs like DoItFast4U?
A) See the previous question.. It's all I use and after all, most all these apps start as a way of being more lazy then we already are :)

Q) How long before we see the new features?
A) Time will tell but soon I hope

Q) I've got a problem or a suggestion. Where should I direct that?
A) For now please email all problems/suggestions to me at D3s7@pobox.com. This will be the best way for me to track

Q) I don't see anything in the Status Window
A) Yeah I know.... Support for the log window isn't finished yet (see WIP)

Q) Is this app final?
A) Not in the least... this is the first beta release so if you don't like working with beta software, wait awhile

Scene Aid does the rest.

Please explain... what do you mean dump your assets into Scenarist, create the tracks and export as a script file?

Is this basically an alternative to ReAuthorist, just that it's able import a VOBID demux? Is it specifically geared towards VOBID demux, or will it handle typical demuxes as well?

I'm trying it now on "Three Kings".
Thanks and good luck with the new program! :) :) :)

No not a replacement to RA. Currently this is more of an enhanced version of ScenChap.

Instead of using ScenChap to create the scenes for your tracks by manually copy/paste in the VOBID Chapter times, SceneAid will copy them in automatically...

Maybe eventually it'll be as useful as RA but that's a little ways down the road

My idea is to get the little stuff in a VOBID reauthor out of the way so you can work on the important part, the actual layout

Sounds cool... but unfortunately I'll be the first to admit I'm still a newbie to most of this stuff after all these years, so I won't be the best beta tester. Good luck with your program. :)

Can you import an RA script? I know that RA doesn't handle vobID demuxing but I never tried it. Anytime VobID's are shared, for now, I usually use Instant COpy 8. I am very new to VobID Demuxing and want to learn more. Thanks for this app, I am sure it will be very useful!!

This app will just setup the tracks for you with a VOBID demux or VOBID/PGC mix but doesn't create the actual layout..

so it's not quite as useful as RA but should save a lot of time w/ a VOBID demux
