I recently backed up a 2 disc DVD set, using CCE/Scenarist/IFOUpdate/IFOedit (latter for correct VTS sectors). In IFOUpdate 0.72 only the first 2 options were checked.

Here is the structure of disc 2 (backup), the structure of disc 1 is the same (except for times).

PGC_1 (program chain): [Title(TTN): 1] [00:51:58.00 / 25 fps] (Programs: 6) (Cells: 6) (uses VOB-IDs: 1)
[Ch 01] [Pg 01] [Cell 01] [V/C Id: 1/ 1] : time: 00:08:15.18 / 25 fps [Pos: 00:08:15.18] [Frames: 12393]
[Ch 02] [Pg 02] [Cell 02] [V/C Id: 1/ 2] : time: 00:09:40.14 / 25 fps [Pos: 00:17:56.07] [Frames: 26907]
[Ch 03] [Pg 03] [Cell 03] [V/C Id: 1/ 3] : time: 00:09:47.19 / 25 fps [Pos: 00:27:44.01] [Frames: 41601]
[Ch 04] [Pg 04] [Cell 04] [V/C Id: 1/ 4] : time: 00:08:31.19 / 25 fps [Pos: 00:36:15.20] [Frames: 54395]
[Ch 05] [Pg 05] [Cell 05] [V/C Id: 1/ 5] : time: 00:10:42.00 / 25 fps [Pos: 00:46:57.20] [Frames: 70445]
[Ch 06] [Pg 06] [Cell 06] [V/C Id: 1/ 6] : time: 00:05:00.05 / 25 fps [Pos: 00:51:58.00] [Frames: 77950]

PGC_2 (program chain): [Title(TTN): 2] [00:48:44.00 / 25 fps] (Programs: 6) (Cells: 6) (uses VOB-IDs: 2)
[Ch 01] [Pg 01] [Cell 01] [V/C Id: 2/ 1] : time: 00:09:11.22 / 25 fps [Pos: 00:09:11.22] [Frames: 13797]

[Ch 01] [Pg 01] [Cell 01] [V/C Id: 4/ 1] : time: 00:08:27.14 / 25 fps [Pos: 00:08:27.14] [Frames: 12689]

[Ch 05] [Pg 05] [Cell 05] [V/C Id: 4/ 5] : time: 00:07:34.00 / 25 fps [Pos: 00:39:25.00] [Frames: 59125]
[Ch 06] [Pg 06] [Cell 06] [V/C Id: 4/ 6] : time: 00:10:45.00 / 25 fps [Pos: 00:50:10.00] [Frames: 75250]

PGC_4 (program chain): [Title(TTN): 4] [00:00:00.12 / 25 fps] (Programs: 1) (Cells: 1) (uses VOB-IDs: 3)
[Ch 01] [Pg 01] [Cell 01] [V/C Id: 3/ 1] : time: 00:00:00.12 / 25 fps [Pos: 00:00:00.12] [Frames: 12]

With the exception of PGC4 - which was originally a 22 second logo/warning played after ep 3 and which I replaced with a 12 frame clip, the chapters and times are exactly the same in the backup as the original.

Anyway, here's the problem:
-In disc 1, PGC1 entering in a value to skip to doesn't work if that value is less than 6:16. Inputting any value in before that results in the player just freezing at the currently displayed point. All values including 6:16 and after are fine. PGCs 2 and 3 have no such issues.
-In disc 2, the same is observed in PGC1 only, except for 22:14 and the values before it.

Fast forward and rewind, skipping between chapters etc is all fine.

This problem is not present in the original.

Is this a known issue at all?

Using the "VTS_TMAPTI table transfer option" in IFOUpdate appears to resolve the problem.

Also, if the dump option is used, this random access is unavailable at all.

Using the "VTS_TMAPTI table transfer option" in IFOUpdate appears to resolve the problem. Are you saying that you no longer have the problem?

...backed up a 2 disc DVD set, using CCE/Scenarist/IFOUpdate/IFOedit (latter for correct VTS sectors). So, I guess, this is not the original configuration. What did you do to change it?

Yeah using that option did remove the problem...the IFOUpdate readme said it only related to software DVD players and it wasn't checked by default so originall I thought it best to leave it that way.

I backed up a 2 disc set on 2 discs, so no I did not change the structure =)

Glad it's solved.
