Hey guys. I've been trying to make an svcd for about a week now. I used DVD2SVCD 1.2.1b3 and tmpg, and followed the doom9 guide. Everything seems to have went according to plan, i ended up with 2 ~800mb mpg files, 2 iso's and 2 cue's. When i burn them in Nero, it says it burned it successfully, but when i put the disk into another drive or my dvd player, its as if it were a blank cd. Its not recognized, gives me a no disc error. Im using nero 5.10. I tried 2 different writers. Nero is the only program i can get to detect my cheap ass writers. I also tried using the nero wizard and selecting svcd, and just dragging and dropping the mpg files to the cd and burned it, same results. I tried burning at lower speeds, nothing. I can play the mpg files in WMP so as far as i know they are ok. Anyone know whats might be causing this?

XP2400+
A7V333
512
Radeon 8500dv
XP Pro No SP
Phillips 4x writer
Cyberdrive 40x writer

I cant think of any other info that would be relevant, let me know...

Look at question 61 in the Q+A on how to burn. You haven't got a problem burning SVCD's unless this way fails! Also, this way allows you to use WinDVD or PowerDVD to play the movie from the image file to check the images work OK.

If the image works and you burn as instructed, you should then at least get the disc recognised by your PC. If it still doesn't play in your standalone, search the list at http://www.dvdrhelp.com/dvdplayers
to make sure your player supports SVCD.

Read the Q+A top to toe, it's long-winded but if you're planning on doing a few conversions, it's a gold mine of information. The search button works a treat too...!
