Hi, I'm a total newbie basically, I learned SVCD no problems and now moved on to createing my first movie only DVD2DVD backup...almost.
I used DVD22SVCD and have played the Pulldown_Encoded_Video_NTSC.mpv and am quite pleased with the results. I however cannot afford Scenarist to finish the job and am looking for a guide through finishing the project using share, free, or affordable software. I must state that I am totally clueless as to the process to finish and create the final disc image from this point, so I'll need a fairly easy to follow step by step guide. TIA
BTW so encouraged by the results i order a dvd writer PIONEER INTERNAL ATAPI DVD-RECORDABLE DVD-R DVD-RW DVD+R DVD+RW MODEL DVR-106D from NewEgg $135 to my doorstep.

Basically you just need to mux your video .mpv with your .ac3 audio and subtitles if any. DVDLab I believe is still $79. You can only do one audio stream though. Here's a guide it's for DVD2DVD-R but same thing for DVD2DVD. Look for the muxing section with DVDLab.

I'll probably get myself in deep doo even mentioning it, but there is experimentation going on where D2D might be able to use DVDAuthor (http://www.dvdrhelp.com/tools?tool=450#comments) for those folks that don't use Scenarist. A little like D2S uses VCDImager for VCDs and SVCDs. As said, just experimentation and I am saying it might happen, not that it will happen. Certainly would be a good leap of functionality if it did happen :)
BTW, you might try the dvdauthor url and get the GUI and use it to do your mux and VIDEO_TS folder creation. It seems simple enough for even me to use. You may have to download Comdlg32.ocx to your system32 directory and then go to start/run and type 'Regsvr32 Comdlg32.ocx' I had to do this to get it to work.
After that, no problem.

Well DVD Lab looks darn easy I'm going to look at Author right now, and still entertaining other suggestions for sure.

syzygytec, I just tried this little GUI for DVDAuthor to do the mux and build and it worked great.

Going to try now! I'll report back, if this rocks, integration of this into d2s, and cce basic integration as well would be an affordable package for most, if all you want is main movie one ac3 soundtrack as I do that would rock.
Hmm I don't get it. Add Title> Browse mpeg elementary streams .mv2 .mv1 ? I have .mpv and .ac3

JUst rename the MPV to M2V and after you select that it will ask for your AC3 or MP2

Got DVDAuthor to run it, now what, I have VIDEO_TS AUDIO_TS, I'm assuming nothing special here on burn mode, just burn to disc and it will behave as a DVD. I don't have the burner yet, I tried to save as a ISO image with Easy CD 6.2, the project said 141MB free, created the image and it made 2 files .iso and .001, I wanted to mount the image and play mostly to test the chapters but it's screwed. So I tried DVD Lab, it doesn't make an image either, it just makes the 2 folders, or goes ahead and burns direct to the disc when finished.
I did notice one thing, DVDAuthor's .vobs are like 1,544 and DVD-Labs are 944, in size don't know if that means anything.
Well I'm still stuck with 2 folders I want to make into a DVD compliant image file at this point

you can use ImgTool Classic to create an iso image. its avaliable from the doom9 download section, or from the creators site CouJos Portal (http://www.coujo.de/).
simple to use but if you run into any problems let us know
hope that helps
