Help Importing Video From Digital Camcorder

I have a Sony DCR-TRV350 and I recorded something on my VCR and I want to upload it to my computer.

I have a USB Cable, and I am using the Sony ImageMixer program. I can always upload the video, but I do not get any audio.

If anyone can solve this problem please tell me.

Your best bet is to start with the DV forum, where you'll find FAQs and other information, and experienced people that may be able to help you. Imagemixer was mentioned in two threads in that forum:

But, as for audio, you might just be missing the proper audio codec. Installing GSpot (http://www.doom9.org/Soft21/Editing/gspot221.exe) to analyze the .avi file may give you additional insight.

Here is what codec it says I need:

I downloaded the codec, I'm pretty sure, but there is no install file. Do I just run the reg.bat file or whatever?

Yes,u have to run the bat file to register the codec.

But, allow me to change your perspective a bit.

Your camcorder is a digital equipment capable of delivering state of the art video when connected through its firewire connector to your PC. Video that is better than dvd mpeg2. If u extract the video through usb there is a degradation in quality. U can easily observe this if u do a small test.

All u need is a firewire cable, aka iee1394,aka i-link and a suitable card for your PC. If u have an audigy sound card u r already have one firerwire port waiting.
